Change Is Good!

Isn’t it crazy to think that everyone in the world is facing this invisible force at the same time. There is no one on the planet that hasn’t been effected in some way by this virus. If we are one of the fortunate few, the worst case is us having to stay home and watch Netflix all day, ‘Yes! I am still watching!’ But I also know that some have lost loved ones, some are working the frontlines at the hospital, some of us are struggling with applying for unemployment. All of this is uncharted territory, and that is always scary to navigate. But for myself being someone who seeks a different perspective, I have really been taking this time to really reflect and try to focus on what I want to do when the world reopens!

Don’t get me wrong I think the first couple weeks, I had a few meltdowns. ‘I can’t just mindlessly walk around Target?’ ‘Alamo Drafthouse is closed?! WHAT AM I GOING TO DO!!!!’ For some of us, it would take a worldwide pandemic to slow down and think about everything we have been trying to NOT think about, just me? #GUILTY

That being said, I’m making some changes, and they are all good exciting changes. Before I start in on the details I do want to talk about the last few years that lead up to here and now. For those that don’t know, my Mom passed away in March 2019. We had three really difficult years leading up to her passing. She was in multiple hospitals, ICU, specialty rehab hospitals, etc. It. Was. Intense. I had to make some adjustments to my little business during this season.

In January of 2019, is when I started to transition into booth renting at Prim Beauty Parlour. It is a beautiful space, right in downtown Elkhorn. It provided a great space for me and my clients this last year, and I am so grateful to them for letting me squeeze in there a couple times a week. I was shown so much kindness and I am so thankful. My heart needed it, it needed the space to just focus on myself and my clients. I also got to meet so many new clients, some of you may be reading this. I really do value you and appreciate your business during this season and hopefully going forward. I really do believe that everyone that finds themself in my chair, it’s not by accident, and I hope you feel that way as well.

In 2020, following this quarantine, I am ready to go after some goals that have been patiently waiting for me. I want to take some classes. I want to try some new techniques. I want to mentor new stylists. I want to be behind the chair more. I am ready for this. The first thing I am doing is moving a bit closer to home. Yep, I’m back in Omaha and I will be doing hair at Lark Salon! I am so excited to join the team there. I have met with the owner Sara a few times, and her heart for this industry is on point. I am so excited to work with her and I am so excited for all of you to experience Lark Salon. This is a GOOD CHANGE!

What’s next? As far as my schedule and booking appointments, I still have Square booking system available to you. I will be transitioning to their system, but for now just schedule an appointment the way you normally would, and they will add you to the system when you arrive. Currently the Health Department of Nebraska has us opening the beginning of May, if they do not extend it I will be available to you starting May 2nd. I currently have my books open when Lark is open, and I will keep it that way the first few weeks just to help get everyone in. I will adjust my schedule as I figure out what is best for all of you and the need at the salon.

I’m excited. And I hope you are as well. I miss all of you and am so excited to see you SOON!!!
